A motorcyclist was injured in a three-car collision while waiting at the railroad crossing on Avenue 12 near Road 32, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist was waiting for the train Friday afternoon when he was hit from behind. He ended up underneath the car that had stopped behind him and sustained moderate injuries in the crash, Officer John Johnson said.

Johnson said the investigation is ongoing and further details are not available.

“It appears the man on the motorcycle was stopped in traffic at the railroad crossing when a driver who failed to stop — or was going too fast for conditions — struck another car from behind, pushing that car forward on top of the motorcyclist,” Johnson said. “We are not sure if he was pinned under or just found underneath the car. The full extent of his injuries is not known at this time.” ...
