Mortuary director’s 40 year service noted

Dan Whistler, president of Jay Chapel, recognized Les Riffel for 40 years of service to families in Madera. Riffel began his employment at Jay Chapel in April 1973.

“As a funeral director, Les has been a valuable member of our staff with his meeting with families, arranging services, conducting funerals and any number of duties associated with the operation of the business,” said Whistler.

Riffel is a 1971 graduate Fresno Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a graduate of the California College of Mortuary Science, Los Angeles, in 1972.

He has been a longtime member of the Madera Lions Club and enjoys helping at the Lions Town and Country Park Little League program and snack bar. He also serves as the secretary-treasurer of the Central Valley Funeral Directors Association and is an active member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Chowchilla...
