Three Madera children reported missing on Halloween were discovered safe in Santa Rosa late Tuesday afternoon and their biological mother, without custody over them due to a history of drug abuse and suspected in their disappearance, was in police custody.

Madera Police Department (MPD) Detective Sgt. Robert Salas said Teresa, Jessica, and Alfredo Sanchez-Deanda, ages 10, 9, and 6 respectively, went missing from Lincoln Elementary School last week and were found playing on a mobile-home playground in Santa Rosa on Tuesday.

He said that all three of the children are back in the custody of child protective services and should be returned to their “rightful foster care” in Madera, from which they went missing.

“We’re elated that the children are safe and will be returned to a safe home,” Salas said. “After a thorough investigation by our detective unit and with the assistance of other agencies such as the FBI, who helped us immensely, we were able to locate the children and they will be returned safely.” ...
