Mexico’s foreign affairs ministry is sponsoring an international drawing contest for children of all nationalities.
Children from 7 to 11 years old are eligible to draw for a chance to win up to $1,500 worth of prizes.
Submissions to the 16th annual “This is My Mexico” Children’s Drawing Contest will be accepted until March 9. This year’s theme is “5 de mayo, 150th anniversary of the Battle of Puebla.”
The theme commemorates the struggle that took place in 1862 when Mexico, as a country under construction, was invaded by French troops, one of the most powerful armies of the time.
