Several members of the Madera United Methodist Church Women gather monthly throughout the year to create craft items to be sold at their annual holiday gift sale to be held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, 500 Sunset Ave.
The gift items, mostly handmade, include colorful hand-painted buckets, wreaths, tree ornaments, an antique sampler quilt, table decorations, aprons, placemats and food items such as baked goods, jams and jellies, which are some of the first items sold, according to United Methodist Church Women president Shirley Sudduth.
Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a $7 donation. Lunch will include a beef sandwich, cole slaw, chips, cookie and drink.
The funds raised by this event are used to support local, national and international church missions...
