Memorial show: work of late artist to be sold

The son and daughter of a late renowned local artist are offering the public one last view of their mother’s artwork.

Nearly six months after Margaret Jacobson died at the age of 90, her son Allen Jacobson of Colorado and his sister Jane Jacobson of Madera are set to hold a memorial art show in the home of their aunt Doris Potter, 1817 Paul Ave., just southeast of Sunset and Schnoor avenues.

Between 25 to 30 watercolor paintings with varying themes, including landscape and portraits, will be shown on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.

“This is a celebration of her life,” said Jane. “We decided it would be a really nice thing to have one last art show about Mom’s work. I think she would have loved that. In fact, I wish I had thought of that before she passed, really, because she would have loved that. As much as she loved to paint she loved to do art shows...
