250 honor veterans at ceremony
Veterans, volunteers and Maderans honored fallen soldiers in ceremonies to observe Memorial Day on Monday.
Every veteran’s gravesite in Madera was adorned with a flag placed by members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1981, American Legion Post 11 and Boy Scout Troops 116 and 117.
During the main program at Courthouse Park, flags were placed before the Madera County Museum and wreaths adorned the Veterans Monument. The honor guard performed a 21-gun salute to honor fallen soldiers, prayers were said and those who made freedom possible were honored.
