Mastin scholars honored at luncheon

Norma Mastin, widow of the late Richard Mastin, presented the annual Richard Mastin Science Scholarships to Madera High School students Tuesday at a luncheon at the Vineyard Restaurant.

Her husband was head of the Science Department at Madera High School for 28 years.

The scholarships ranged from $250 to $1,000, she said.

Scholarship recipients, the colleges they plan to attend and their intended majors are Jovany Martinez, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, civil engineering; Michael Say, UCLA, mechanical engineering; Daniel Biancas, Fresno State, engineering; Jessica Gartrell Fresno State, mechanical engineering; Ramona Mosqueda, Lovepreet Sidhu, and Soledad Vega, all three to attend CSU Stanislaus with a nursing major...
