Master Gardeners raise $1,500 for butterfly garden

An afternoon of tea and theater served to raise about $1,500 for a section of a two-acre garden at Madera Community College Center.

Nearly 70 people ate, drank and laughed in the Frank Bergon Senior Center during performances of the award-winning Grub Gulch Grannies from the Golden Chain Theatre in Oakhurst. The Saturday Butterfly Tea Party was put on by The Friends of the Three Sisters Club and it’s set to benefit the butterfly garden, which is part of Madera County Master Gardeners’ Three Sisters Demonstration Garden at the college.

A silent auction also helped the club raise funds.
