Master Gardeners’ spring tour set for Saturday

Madera gardeners are planning to guide people through tours in private gardens to raise money for a public one.

The 6th annual Spring Garden Tour is set for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature tours in four gardens ranging in styles from exotic evergreens to a lavish estate. Gardens set to be featured are owned by Larry Coen, Pat Furman, Mitzie Layne and Anna Da Silva.

Hosted by Madera County Master Gardeners, the Spring Garden Tour will serve as a fundraiser for the Three Sisters demonstration garden at Madera Community College, where Maderans can attend classes and get hands-on demonstrations of gardening skills.
