Mariposan caught in Madera with meth

A 36-year-old Mariposa man was placed into Madera County Jail this week when sheriff’s deputies found him in possession of methamphetamine and two hypodermic needles, spokeswoman Erica Stuart said Friday.

Christopher Davis Franksen was taken into custody around 2:30 a.m. Thursday on Road 417 near Quartz Mountain Road in Coarsegold, Stuart said.

Deputy Miguel Hernandez pulled Franksen over for a routine traffic violation and allegedly found Franksen — on probation for a previous drug-related conviction — in possession of the methamphetamine and the needles.

“It wasn’t a huge amount but the bottom line is he had meth in his car,” Stuart said. “Suffice it to say it was a good arrest.” ...
