A man who was wanted on the East Coast was jailed Tuesday in Madera on felony drug charges.

Phouphet Homesombat, 43, originally from Laos, was on the run from Pennsylvania authorities for narcotic trafficking, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office said.

 “How Mr. Homesombat found his way to Madera is under investigation,” said Erica Stuart, sheriff’s spokeswoman.

 He is being held without bail and awaits extradition to Scranton, Pa., for an outstanding felony narcotic warrant for intent to distribute...
