A 35-year-old man wanted on a no bail felony warrant was arrested off Highway 41 near Oakhurst Cemetery after trying to flee deputies.

Ryan Prosser was riding a bicycle Tuesday when he saw deputies heading his way. He first tried to peddle away, then ditched the bike and ran, Madera County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Erica Stuart said.

He led deputies on a chase through a mini mall parking lot near a major shopping center before running through a brush-covered hillside.

Prosser was arrested without further incident and booked in Madera County jail on suspicion of resisting arrest. He remains jailed on a parole hold...
