The man sustained a head injury and other cuts and bruises, but declined to be taken to a hospital and was treated at the scene. The name of the driver is not being released.

The man, along with his wife were southbound on Road 29 about 9 a.m. when the 2007 Honda Accord began to shake, causing the driver to lose control, according to CHP Sgt. Lincoln McKenna.

“The speed stated by the driver was 40 to 45 mph, which was verified by witnesses. It appears the vehicle began to have some sort of mechanical failure, and started shaking and was hard to control, according to the driver. He crossed over into the northbound lane, hit a telephone pole and then also the stop sign,” McKenna said...
