Daughter was the abuse victim
A Chowchilla man was sentenced Monday to eight years in prison without the possibility of parole for repeatedly raping his mentally disabled daughter.
A jury convicted Mark Garner, 50, last month of three counts of forceful rape. The victim, who asked not to be named, sat in court just feet away from Garner as a victim’s advocate read her statement before Judge Mitchell Rigby.
“I am scared for the day he gets out,” the victim wrote in her statement. “I think my dad should be in prison for ever for what he did to me.”...
