The Madera Superior Court sentenced Alberto Rodriguez of Madera to decades in prison Monday for two counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 14, according to authorities.

The assaults by Rodriguez, 52, were between 2006 and 2010, said Madera County District Attorney Michael Keitz. An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office followed a report of the assaults by a victim who came forward.

Rodriguez pled guilty on Feb. 24. On Monday, the court sentenced him to 30 years in state prison.

“This man’s crimes are a travesty. Hopefully, his sentence will bring closure for the victims in this case and prevent him from harming anyone in the future,” said Keitz.
