A tip called into authorities led to the arrest of a 32-year-old reputed gang member in connection with a burglary near Chowchilla, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Department.
Jose Jesus Velasco of Chowchilla was arrested Tuesday night at his home on Avenue 22 1/2 near Fairmead Boulevard. A sheriff’s deputy and detectives recovered a stolen laptop, valued at $700, from the home, spokeswoman Erica Stuart said.
They also seized a bindle of methamphetamine and a glass pipe commonly used to smoke meth, she said.
The laptop wasn’t the only thing stolen during the burglary of a Fairmead home Sunday, and the other personal property has not been recovered...
