Man, 30, dies after stabbed

A Chowchilla man died from a stab wound he suffered during a fight with his stepfather, the Madera County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Deputies were sent to their home on Avenue 19 off Road 12 shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday.

A 30-year-old man and his stepfather James Arthur Chew, 57, were alone in the home when the fight happened, sheriff’s spokeswoman Erica Stuart said.

The sheriff’s department first identified the man as Andrew Shabazz, but later said it had two possible two names with two different dates of birth...
