The body of a young Hispanic man was found on the side of Road 27 near Ellis Street shortly after noon Sunday.
Authorities were investigating the possibility of a homicide before determining it was a hit-and-run, CHP acting Sgt. Pablo Reyna said.
Madera County Sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol officers were on the scene Sunday.
The cause of death has not yet been determined...
