Man’s bail set at $1M for drug charges

A Stockton man remained jailed Wednesday in Madera County with bail set at $1 million after being found with 22 pounds of crystal methamphetamine on State Route 99, according to authorities.

Alejandro Angel Guerrero, 30, was arrested by Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team (MADNET) agents, following a routine traffic stop on northbound SR 99 near Avenue 24.

A California Highway Patrol K-9 Officer pulled over Guerrero because he was weaving and driving slightly off the road, according to CHP Sergeant Lincoln McKenna.

Another CHP officer assigned to MADNET, whose duties include drug interdiction, was then called to investigate at the scene Tuesday. Inside the car occupied solely by Guerrero, officers found 22 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, which is valued at $220,000 on the streets, according to Erica Stuart, spokeswoman for the Madera County Sheriff’s Office...
