400 cheer Lifetime honorees in night filled with gratitude, laughs
With modesty, grace and humor, six Madera citizens were honored Wednesday night at the Madera Chamber of Commerce’s eighth annual Lifetime Achievement Awards Celebration dinner.
Honorees Jim Massetti of Massetti Bros. Appliance, Dr. James E. Walters, Bud Smith and Carl Wisener of General Builder’s Supply, Don Nelson of Midland Tractor, and Memorial Honoree Charles “Val” Clute were chosen by the chamber to receive the award for their dedication to Madera in areas such as economic development, education, cultural enhancement and quality of life.
“This is an unbelievable group,” said Debi Bray, president and CEO of the Madera Chamber of Commerce, to the crowd of nearly 400 citizens, business owners, and officials who paid $45 to pack the Holy Spouses Hall of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church. “This is why Madera prospers, because of people like this.”
