Madera students take home scholarships

Three Madera students were among 50 winners awarded a $2,000 college grant by Educational Employees Credit Union for the 2014-2015 school year.

Kaitlyn Allen, 17, is a 2014 was part of Madera High School’s 2014 graduating class. She said she will attend Fresno State University this fall and major in mechanical engineering with an emphasis in biomedical engineering.

Chloe Doyle and Kristyn Fletcher, both of Madera, also were awarded a $2,000 EECU grant.

The students were recognized by Frank Powell, EECU vice chairman and professor of psychology at Fresno State, as well as EECU President/CEO Beth Dooley at the credit union’s annual meeting last month...
