Madera South brings Mexican Consulate reps for presentation

A rigorous outreach program for students and families of Madera South High School brought representatives from the Mexican Consulate in Fresno to its campus Wednesday evening to help explain President Obama’s new immigration policy.

More than 200 adults and students from Madera attended the event in the school’s cafeteria, which was the latest effort of Madera South’s Safeness Supporting Schools (S3) grant.

Under the federal/state grant, Madera South has embarked upon an ambitious outreach program, which now includes assisting families in understanding the President’s Deferred Action Plan on immigration.
