A local club, part of an international service organization, wants to honor businesses in the city of Madera that operate ethically and is asking the public’s help to do so.
The 2012 award was presented to Wally Nishimoto of the Bridge Store, a family-operated business serving the community since 1928.
The 2013 Madera Business of the Year Award is set to be presented during a regular meeting of the Madera Rotary Club in January, but the period to submit nominations is drawing to an end. Customers, employees or business owners may put forth a local business name in writing until Oct. 31. A committee will read the nomination letters in November and choose a winner.
The winning business’ management is hosted in a luncheon and also receives a plaque. Letter writers should keep in mind that the award is based on a business operating in a manner that best meets the Rotary International Four-Way Test. This Four-Way Test is used as an ethical guide for Rotarians in their personal and professional relationships.
