Children’s recording artist Oklin Bloodworth of Madera has recorded and produced two more children’s albums in time for Valentines Day.
Bloodworth is a Madera native who wrote and produced a jingle for the Fresno Chaffee Zoo that can be heard on television and radio commercials. He will be performing song selections from one of his new albums, “V is for Valentine,” at local schools this month.
Bloodworth’s other new album is titled, “Creepy Crawly Critters.” Bloodworth already has written and produced three other albums, bringing his total to five albums and two videos.
He performs at school assemblies and teacher conferences from Los Angeles to Sacramento. He entertains his audiences with songs and dances, and the help of his furry stuffed animal friends.
Bloodworth writes and composes his own material. His music is sold across the country through Educational Activities Catalog out of New York. His songs and performances incorporate learning, Bloodworth said.
“The theme of my performances will focus on character, honesty, kindness, respect, love ... and also fun and interaction.”
Bloodworth interacts with the audience.
“I get the teachers and kids to come up on the stage and perform,” he said. “It creates a spirit of fun and it just so happens fun and education go together.”
Bloodworth says the goal is to learn and have joy in your life. He researches the subject matter for his albums in order to promote learning through the lyrics of his songs.
Bloodworth’s other albums are “Like You, Like Me,” “Under Water Circus,” and “Fun At The Zoo.” He hopes to to produce more albums for other holidays.
