The Madera County Historical Society will hold its annual Christmas Gala on Sunday in the Madera County Courthouse Museum. The festivities are scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m.
The old-fashioned Christmas celebration will feature a dinner and dessert buffet with a no-host bar. Tickets are $30 per person.
According to society president Sheryl Berry, hundreds of volunteer hours have gone into transforming each exhibit room in the 110-year-old building into a veritable showcase for the holidays.
Guests will have their choice of decorated rooms in which to mingle and dine. The Native American, lumber, war and peace, and agriculture rooms as well as the blacksmith shop are just some of the museum hideaways that have been given a new look for the gala.
