“I Can’t Believe That Didn’t Win a Tony – A Musical Revue” runs weekends through Oct. 21 at the Golden Chain Theatre in Oakhurst.

The production, is directed by Jennifer Piccolotti. It showcases numbers from the Broadway shows that happened to miss winning the — Tony — Broadway’s equivalent of the Oscar — for Best Musical.

Featuring 28 widely known songs by 18 local vocalists, from musicals including “Chicago,” “Wicked,” “Godspel,” “Oklahoma,” “Sweet Charity,” “West Side Story” and “Annie Get Your Gun,” the show runs the gamut from the provocative “All That Jazz” (from “Chicago”) and “Hey Big Spender” (“Sweet Charity”) to the hilarious “Coffee in a Cardboard Cup” (70 Girls 70) and “Amazing Mayzie and Notice Me, Horton” (”Seussical”).

Interspersed throughout the show are skits by the janitor and his manager while the stage is empty — some dreaming of being as famous and talented as the singers and dancers...
