The first time the Madera Rotary Interact Club, made up of high school students, presented its haunted house for Halloween, “Ghostbusters” was the number one film of 1984 with “Gremlins” and “Star Trek III” not far behind. This year Interact is presenting its 29th year of boos and screams and scare ’ems at what is being billed as Haunted Town.
The popular stop for kids before and during Halloween is at 1490 Tozer St. next to Rancho San Miguel Market near the corner of Tozer and Yosemite Avenue. The doors will creak open for the first time Monday at 6:30 p.m. and squeak closed for the final time at 8:30 on Halloween night.
Cost for those 10 and under is $5; those 11 and older pay $6. Proceeds from Haunted Town benefit and help promote the Interact Club’s community and international service projects.
