The Madera High School newspaper staff took home several awards at the 81st San Joaquin Valley Scholastic Press Association conference at Fresno State.
While they were surprised at some of their individual awards, The Maderan staff said they were proud that their paper scored 99 out of 100 in a critique.
“Overall we did really well as a paper,” said editor-in-chief Torrin Greathouse. “That was the second highest ranking out of any paper. The critic said we had the best editorial section in the Valley so I’m really proud of that.”
