Madera District Fair opens today

The Madera District Fair opens today at the fairgrounds, 1850 W. Cleveland Ave., and runs through Sunday. Gates open at 5 p.m. today and Friday, and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with closing time at 11 p.m. each night.

General admission is $8, senior citizens and children 6-12 are $4 and children 5 and under get in free. Parking is also free.

The fair is offering a variety of entertainment this year, including headline acts, daily performances and exhibits. The top performers this year are Tower of Power, Styx, Rodney Atkins and Lupillo Rivera. The concerts are free with fair admission, or reserved seating is available for $10 to $20. For ticket information, go to www.madera
