Agency to be consolidated

Madera County is making plans to consolidate its Resource Management Agency into two departments and eventually move them to the downtown County Administration Building.

With the resignation Jan. 3 of Doug Papagni, the interim, part-time Resource Management Agency director, County Administrative Officer Eric Fleming suggested doing away with the director position entirely and turning RMA administration over two two senior officials in that department: Planning Director Norman Allinder and Road Commissioner Johannes Hoevertsz.

The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday agreed with the idea, voting to put Hoevertsz in charge of public works and Allinder in charge of community and economic development.
