Madera County is nearing the end of its process of interviewing and evaluating agricultural commissioner/sealer of weights and measures candidates, officials say.
Robert Rolan, the commissioner since 1993, retired June 30, said Jay Seslowe, assistant ag commissioner.
“It was a personal decision. He just felt it was time to retire and get on with next phase of his life,” he said.
The county’s human resources department has been conducting interviews and will go to the Board of Supervisors soon with prospective candidates to fill the position, Seslowe said...
