Both McNally Park and the John W. Wells Youth Center saw more than 40 volunteers arrive at each site as part of the Love Madera effort for community betterment. At each location Madera Parks and Community Services crews were ready with a variety of projects.
As members of churches, service clubs, schools or as individuals they were among the hundreds of citizens that participated in the Love Madera project that assembled at Courthouse Park Saturday morning.
At the Youth Center, the volunteers pulled weeds and beautified the exterior landscaping. Inside, many more cleaned out and reorganized the gym storage area, the dance studio and arts and crafts room. They wiped down and dusted everything from tables and chairs to the air hockey game and the basketball backboards.
