Vacancies in the housing program under the Madera County Mental Health Services Act became available at the beginning of the month in Madera and Chowchilla, and individuals interested in filling them must meet eligibility criteria and complete an application.
Using funding from the Mental Health Services Act, Madera County Behavioral Health Services, in conjunction with the Housing Authority of the City of Madera, will accept applications and determine eligibility for permanent supportive housing. In shared housing, residents have their own bedroom but share the rest of the home, including the kitchen and bathroom.
Shared housing tenant eligibility criteria as defined in the Madera County Mental Health Services Act Housing Program is as follows:
- Be homeless or at risk of being homeless
- Have serious mental illness
