The bands from both local high schools who participated in this year’s field show competition over the weekend placed well in their corresponding categories.
The Heart of California Tournament of Champions included 13 school bands from throughout the Central Valley and West coast. It has been hosted every November in Madera for the past five years.
On Saturday, Madera High School and Madera South High School band and color guard teams spread out on the Lee DaSilva Field, trying to impress the judges, as their friends and families sat in the stands cheering them.
