Published authors from Madera and Fresno counties are set to speak during a Local Author’s Day event set for Saturday.

Sponsored by The Friends of the Madera County Library and the American Association of University Women, Local Author’s Day aims to highlight local talent and provide the community the opportunity to meet local authors, said Ellen Mester, the county librarian.

Fourteen authors will have five minutes each to talk about what inspired them to write their books or the writing process, she said. Their books will be available for sale and authors will give autographs.

Authors include Leon Emo, Bill Coate, Ben Romero, Hazel Dixon Cooper, Marilyn Meredith, Daniel Davis, Glenna Jarvis, Larry Lahosit, Margarita Engle, Jerry Guibor, Virginia Pilegard, Paul Abram, Ruth Rosenthal, Zelda Dubel and John Peterson...
