For two decades, California artists have descended on Madera to compete for a chance to display their work in an exhibit celebrating agriculture, a long-running vital industry in this area. The art exhibit and competition highlights the agricultural heritage of Central California through the work of California artists.
This year, entering the show was not any less coveted, as nearly double the amount of work allowed to be showcased was turned in. Fresno artist Suzie Stach’s artwork was among the chosen. She was ecstatic to see two of her pieces, “Radishes galore” and “Justin’s sunset” featured in the vegetables and vines class in the exhibit.
Stach has been participating in Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts for about 19 years, she said.
