Liberty High School student wins Rotary speech contest

A Liberty High School sophomore won the 2014 Rotary Speech Contest in Madera, earning $125 and an opportunity to compete in the next level of the contest this month. Claire Copher won with her original speech that fit this year’s theme, “Changing Lives.”

The second place award went to Matteo Francescone, a foreign exchange student from Italy who is attending Liberty High School this year.

Senior Anthony Hall, also of Liberty, won third place. Anthony’s parents, Michael and Nora Hall, are hosting Francescone during this school year.
