At least four six-week-old kittens were thrown from a tan or gold minivan Thursday morning into traffic on southbound State Route 99 near Avenue 13, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officer Ronnie Lopez said a call was received about 8:30 a.m. from a woman driving behind the minivan when the kittens were tossed from it.

“At first she said she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. The tan or gold minivan slowed and tossed a kitten out, and went a little farther and threw out another,” Lopez said. “She saw one of the kittens right in front of her, in the center of the traffic lane and was able to pass directly over it without hitting it.”

Lopez said the woman was not able to get a license plate number, but CHP has a description and is looking for the vehicle...
