Kids learn to create art from recyclables

Children in a local summer camp are taking items they would normally dump in the blue container to be recycled and reusing them to make works of art.

Taught by art instructor Adam Mena, the art class is part of the annual Kids Kamp and is funded by the Madera County Arts Council.

Operated by the City of Madera Parks and Community Services Department, Kids Kamp is a nine-week session program where kindergarten through high school freshmen may take part in field trips, arts and crafts, physical activities and sports.
