Judge Minier pens political prophecy in retirement

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under Obamas, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

With these words, retired Madera County Superior Court Judge, David D. Minier begins his third novel, “One Nation, Under Obamas ...”

Minier’s book takes the form of a “future history,” in which a fictitious, liberal commentator looks back, after President Michelle Obama has given her second inaugural address in 2021, to the presidential election of 2012. The future historian records how President Barak Obama’s reelection victory in that year set the United States inexorably toward a police state under the control of the Obamas.

Sitting in his living room discussing his book, Minier made it clear that he is serious about his book. It is not a spoof; it is not an entertainment piece. He intends it to alert the public to what he considers a possible “descent into tyranny.”...
