John, Virginia Rose to lead parade

When Maderans of all ages cluster on both sides of Yosemite Avenue on Sept. 27, to take in another Old Timers parade, they will see two of the city’s most dedicated community boosters leading the procession.

John W. Rose and his wife, Virginia Lee Rose, have been chosen by the Kiwanis Club of Madera to be this year’s grand marshals.

Sitting in their spacious, northeast Madera home with their family pet, Miss Rufus, and surrounded by walls bedecked with plaques, resolutions, and commendations citing their service to Madera, the Roses talk quietly about this most recent recognition. They are pleased to have had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of so many in the Madera area.
