The Madera Community Hospital Foundation held its 28th annual fund-raising dinner-dance, Riverboat Rendezvous, Saturday evening at Isla de Vista Farm off Island Drive northeast of Madera. The foundation’s events raise money for hospital equipment.

A facsimile check was presented by the foundation to hospital CEO John Frye for $225,000 for the purchase of imaging equipment.

John Markle was chair of the event. The committee included Celia Cisneros, Mike Diebert, Kim Gomes, Jane Kautz and Kristie Moglia. Rae Gomes was the adviser and link with the hospital.

Markle said about 300 tickets were sold at $50 apiece. A live auction and a silent auction also helped raise money, as did participation by sponsors.
