About 100 people interviewed for 99 after-school program positions at 19 elementary and middle schools in Madera Unified School District at a job fair on Friday.
The California Teaching Fellows Foundation held interviews in the Madera High School cafeteria to select candidates for 80 after-school tutor positions and 19 supervisor positions, said Mike Snell, the foundation’s executive director.
Candidates of all experience levels from Madera and surrounding cities showed up for the opportunity.
“We hire a lot of college students who want to be teachers to give them that experience of working in schools,” Snell said. “Supervisor positions go to those with experience in after school programs and college graduates.” ...
