Those who work with children and teenagers were updated on current trends and issues their clients face in the 13th annual Day for Children conference, which started Tuesday and will finish this afternoon at the Madera County Juvenile Boot Camp, 28281 Avenue 14.
Hosted by the Madera County Child Abuse Prevention Council, the conference is part of a series of activities to highlight National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. Winners of an office decorating contest were recognized and awards were also given to individuals who have demonstrated excellence and commitment in working with children ages 0 to 5.
Madera and Chowchilla agencies participated in the office decorating contest where items that represented child abuse prevention, such as blue ribbons, balloons, posters and children’s art, were displayed in offices at the beginning of this month and will remain up until the end.
