Halloween Ball to scare up funds for charity

The Madera Rotary Club Halloween dinner and dance to raise money to help pay for the group’s charitable activities is set for Saturday at Hatfield Hall on the Madera District Fairgrounds.

The 10th annual Madera Rotary Halloween Ball will start at 6 p.m., and costs $55 per person; $30 of that charge is tax deductible.

The proceeds benefit Madera Rotary Club’s projects, which include high school scholarships, its annual Rotary Netherton Relays, other youth activities and Rotary Park projects.

Last year, the Halloween Ball raised more than $12,000 and event chair Velvet Rhoads said she hopes it will do about the same this year...
