Gun, drugs, cash seized in arrest

Madera police arrested a known felon Wednesday morning, and seized a loaded, stolen handgun, marijuana, hashish and cocaine, along with $8,300 in cash, in the 12000 block of Georgia Place, south of Avenue 13.

Donald Davis, 30, of Madera was charged with felony gun possession, possession of narcotics and drug possession for sales, among other charges.

Sgt. Matt Wiles, commander of the Madera Police Community Response Unit, said Davis had an extensive criminal history and the arrest was significant.

“We were performing a warrant search at this residence in the new Parkwood (subdivision) area. We found a loaded .45 caliber Glock semiautomatic pistol, the drugs and the $8,300 in cash (in $100 bills). We are also charging him with sales of cocaine, along with the sales of prescription cough medicine,” Wiles said...
