Music blared from a sound system as people danced on the patio of a house where homemade enchiladas and tacos were served. It may have seemed like a usual party to some in the community of La Vina, but it was far from typical Saturday night fun.
Members of Angeles de Fe, or Angels of Faith — a threeyear-old group made up of men and women who aim to help the neediest of Madera County — were working to raise money.
“We saw a need in Madera and a bunch of friends and random people from St. Joachim Church got together to help people who need food and clothes,” said Rene Vargas, the group founder and coordinator of the event.
