Filing due Friday

Madera County agencies, schools, and nonprofit organizations have a day to submit applications for the 2013 Community Grant Program of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians and Madera County. Grant applications are due on or before Friday.

Grant applications are available at the offices of the Madera County Board of Supervisors, 200 West Fourth St., Madera, Calif. 93637, or online at

Now in its seventh year, the Community Grant Program will ultimately span 10 years and filter $10 million into the county. The program is funded by the Picayune Rancheria through a cooperative agreement with county government.

Previous projects supported by the program include Boys and Girls Club of Oakhurst, Holy Family Table capital improvements, Madera Community Food Bank modernization, Toys for Tots, SLS Foundation tutoring for low-income students, and the Chowchilla Fair Improvement Project...
