Grand Jury may investigate MUSD board; trustees move ahead with own probe

The movement for an investigation into alleged improprieties by some Madera Unified trustees in the search for a new school superintendent is moving forward.

Trustee Michael Salvador, who has been given responsibility by the board for facilitating the hiring of an investigator told The Tribune Thursday he has been in contact with a private investigator who has wide experience in dealing with school districts.

Salvador said he is also in contact with the Madera County Grand Jury and is inviting it to look into the matter.

Salvador said he will present his findings to the board, which may announce a decision at the next meeting of trustees on March 12...
